The uprising followed the June 1923 coup that overthrew Aleksandar Stamboliyski\u2019s agrarian government and brought Aleksandar Tsankov\u2019s administration to power. Communist leaders initially hesitated, but under pressure from the Comintern they moved toward armed revolt. The outbreak in Maglizh became one of the first sparks of a wider but poorly coordinated rebellion. The uprising was soon crushed, followed by repression, trials, executions, and emigration. Its memory remained deeply political: celebrated under communist rule and reassessed after 1989 as part of Bulgaria\u2019s violent interwar conflicts.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>September 13, 2007 \u2014 Parliament Passes the Diplomatic Service Act<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>On this day in 2007, Bulgaria\u2019s Parliament passed the Diplomatic Service Act.
