September 18, 1918 \u2014 Entente Troops Take the Offensive against the Bulgarian Army<\/strong><\/h2>\n

On this day in 1918, Entente troops took the offensive against the Bulgarian army on the Southern Front during World War I. The assault followed the breakthrough at Dobro Pole and placed Bulgaria\u2019s exhausted forces under severe pressure. By this stage of the war, shortages, low morale, and years of fighting had weakened the army and the home front. The offensive quickly became a strategic crisis, helping trigger military collapse, soldier unrest, and the chain of events that led to the Salonica Armistice later that month. September 18 therefore belongs to the final dramatic phase of Bulgaria\u2019s participation in World War I.<\/p>\n

September 18, 2008 \u2014 Bulgarian Energy Holding Is Established<\/strong><\/h2>\n

On this day in 2008, Bulgarian Energy Holding was set up as a wholly state-owned joint-stock company. The holding brought together key state energy assets and became an important structure in Bulgaria\u2019s electricity, gas, coal, and nuclear energy sectors. Its creation reflected the need to manage strategic energy companies under a centralized corporate umbrella at a time when Bulgaria was adapting to European energy rules and regional market pressures.
