Urban transport had already been transformed by trams, but trolleybuses offered flexibility without abandoning electric power \u2014 their introduction reflected the continuing modernization of Sofia as a growing administrative, commercial, and cultural centre.<\/p>\n<p>Public transport is never merely a convenience; it shapes how people live, work, study, and move through a city. The trolleybus became part of Sofia&#8217;s visual and everyday identity, with overhead wires, stops, and vehicles woven into the rhythm of urban life that would persist for decades.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>February 14, 1994 \u2014 Bulgaria Joins NATO&#8217;s Partnership for Peace<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Bulgaria formally joined NATO&#8217;s Partnership for Peace initiative, an important step in the country&#8217;s post-Cold War security reorientation. After decades inside the Warsaw Pact, Bulgaria had to rethink its military doctrine, alliances, and strategic identity.
