July 16, 2006 \u2014 A Step Closer to European Security Cooperation<\/strong><\/h2>\n

On this day in 2006, Bulgaria acquired active observer status in the Europol Security Committee, a year before its EU accession, deepening its cooperation with European law enforcement bodies on cross-border crime and security matters.<\/p>\n
