For a state just finding its feet on the international stage, each such link was a sign of recognition.<\/p>\n<p>The relationship was later elevated to legations in 1909, interrupted twice by war, and eventually promoted to full embassy status in 1948 \u2014 a reflection of the turbulent path of Balkan diplomacy across the twentieth century, in which neighbourliness alternated between cooperation and rivalry.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>July 21, 1921 \u2014 Bulgaria Founds Its State Music Academy<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Tsar Boris III signed Decree No. 145, published in the State Gazette, establishing the State Music Academy in Sofia. The institution, known today as the National Academy of Music, gave Bulgaria its first dedicated conservatory-level training for composers, instrumentalists, and singers.<\/p>\n<p>Before its founding, Bulgarian musical culture had relied heavily on private tutors and foreign-trained talent. The Academy set the stage for a generation of professional musicians trained at home, and made musical education part of the country&#8217;s developing national
