August 4, 1877 — First Assault on the Shipka Pass<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Ottoman forces launched their initial assault on the Shipka Pass, opening what would become one of the most intense and celebrated engagements of the Russo-Turkish War. Bulgarian volunteers and Russian troops, heavily outnumbered, repelled successive waves of attackers with fierce determination. The fighting over the following days would etch the name of Shipka permanently into Bulgarian national consciousness.<\/p>\n

August 4, 1946 — Founding of the Bulgarian State Circus<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The Bulgarian State Circus was established in Sofia, becoming one of the country’s most popular entertainment institutions. In the decades that followed, Bulgarian circus performers gained international recognition, touring across Europe and the world and bringing home awards from major circus festivals. The institution nurtured generations of acrobats, jugglers, and animal trainers who became celebrated artists in their own right.<\/p>\n
