September 2, 1885 — Unification Demonstrations in Panagyurishte

Popular demonstrations demanding the unification of Bulgaria broke out in the historical town of Panagyurishte. Led by local activists of the secret revolutionary committee, citizens gathered in the streets, raising the national flag and declaring their readiness to fight for national integrity. These protests acted as a powerful catalyst for the wider movement.

September 2, 1944 — Formation of the Muraviev Government

In the final stages of World War II, Konstantin Muraviev formed a new government in Sofia. The administration attempted to distance Bulgaria from Nazi Germany and negotiate an armistice with the Allies. Despite declaring neutrality and ordering German troops to leave, the government was short-lived, as the Soviet Union declared war on Bulgaria just three days later.
