September 30, 1885 — Capital Functions Temporarily Move to Plovdiv
Following the Unification, Prince Alexander I of Battenberg arrived in Plovdiv and temporarily established his headquarters there. This move was intended to demonstrate the government’s commitment to defending the Unification, coordinate the union of the two separate administrative systems, and manage the mobilization of troops to the southern border.
September 30, 1998 — Ratification of the SEEB Agreement
The Bulgarian National Assembly ratified the agreement on the establishment of the South-East European Brigade (SEEBRIG). This multilateral regional initiative, involving several Balkan nations, was designed to foster regional security cooperation and prepare national military units for joint peacekeeping operations, aligned with NATO standards.
