July 7, 1393 — The Exile of Patriarch Evtimiy
Following the fall of Tarnovo to Ottoman forces, Patriarch Evtimiy of Tarnovo — the last Patriarch of the medieval Bulgarian Church — was exiled. A revered scholar and reformer of the Bulgarian literary language, his exile marked the effective end of the Second Bulgarian Kingdom’s ecclesiastical institutions.
July 7, 1955 — Bulgaria Joins the United Nations
Bulgaria became a member of the United Nations, joining the international community during the Cold War era and gaining a formal voice in global affairs.
