September 21, 1908 — Prince Ferdinand Arrives in Rousse

Prince Ferdinand I arrived in the Danube city of Rousse, where he was met by Prime Minister Aleksandar Malinov. It was during this secret meeting on the ship *Krum* that the final decision was made to proclaim Bulgaria’s independence the following day at Veliko Tarnovo, ending the country’s vassal status to the Ottoman Empire.

September 21, 1923 — Formation of the Revolutionary Committee

The Bulgarian Communist Party established a General Revolutionary Committee composed of Georgi Dimitrov, Vasil Kolarov, and Todor Lukanov. This committee was tasked with directing the nationwide armed uprising, coordinating local rebel detachments, and preparing the strategic operational plans for capturing key governmental centers.
