September 27, 1918 — Outbreak of the Vladaya Rebellion

Mutinous Bulgarian soldiers, returning from the Dobro Pole front, gathered in the town of Radomir and proclaimed Bulgaria a Republic, with political leader Aleksandar Stamboliyski as its president. The mutineers then marched towards Sofia (the Vladaya Rebellion), demanding an immediate end to the war and the overthrow of the Tsar.

September 27, 1944 — Bulgarian Forces Join the 3rd Ukrainian Front

The reorganized Bulgarian army was formally subordinated to the 3rd Ukrainian Front of the Soviet Red Army. Under the command of General Vladimir Stoychev, Bulgarian troops fought alongside Soviet forces in the Belgrade, Transdanubian, and Balaton offensive operations, contributing to the defeat of Nazi Germany in Europe.
